Assah! Taps into Twitter

Assah.org - a collection of awesome vibes

One of my fun side projects recently has been the creation of Assah.org.  As you can see from the definition on the homepage “assah”, or “아싸” in Korean hangul is just a word/noise that someone shouts when something awesome happens.

Assah.org serves as a collection point for good karma – one long page full of awesomeness.

I made the original site in a matter of hours a back in July (as a kind of birthday present to my friend, and fellow ‘assah’ enthusiast, Patrick).  The only real publicity I did was emailing a bunch of my friends who have lived (or are from) Korea about the site.  It was fun.  A few people added their nuggets of awesomeness, but not a lot.  No big deal.  I knew the form was clunky, and when you have an “assah moment” you don’t want to navigate to a site, scroll to the bottom, and fill in a form.  Who knows, you may even have an analog life and aren’t in front of a computer when awesomeness strikes.

That’s why I’ve integrated the site with Twitter.  At regular intervals, Assah.org checks for tweets with the #assah hashtag and adds them to the site.  For lack of a better name, I call them “TweetSah!”‘s.

Now any tweet with the #assah hash tag will appear on Assah.org (아싸!!)

I haven’t had a lot of time to spend of Assah.org, but I do like the idea of being able to see a collection of positivity and good energy on the site.  There are lots of way this concept could be expanded, and I’d love to have some input.
